Legal Information

This legal notice was last updated on 26 October 2026. It identifies the business behind this website, sets out the registration and tax identifiers that apply to it under the law of the United Kingdom, explains the rules that govern access to and use of the site, and tells you where to go if something goes wrong. Please read it together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Terms and Conditions, and Payment and Refund Policy, each of which is referred to in plain text in the relevant section below and is reachable from the site footer and the Contacts page.

1. Who we are and what this legal notice covers

showperu operates this website, a professional resource dedicated to studio production in motion. Our subject matter covers studio equipment setup, dynamic camera operation, lighting and sound waves, and the practical design of smooth, high-quality workflows for television news and live shows. The material is written for working professionals and organisations in the broadcast, production, hire and live-event sectors, and for trainers and students who need dependable reference material.

This page is our formal legal notice. It does three jobs. First, it identifies the operator of the site in the way that a commercial website in the United Kingdom is expected to identify itself. Second, it explains the basis on which you may use the site and its content. Third, it points you to the separate policies that deal with data protection, cookies, contracts of sale and hire, and refunds.

Nothing on this page is marketing copy. Where we describe limitations, exclusions or obligations, we have tried to state them plainly so that you can decide whether you wish to use the site and, where relevant, buy or hire from us.

2. Legal form, registration details, tax identifiers and responsible persons

2.1 Company name, legal form and place of registration

The business behind this site is a private limited company incorporated in England and Wales under the Companies Act 2006, trading under the identity used on this website. Its registration details are set out below and are also displayed in the site footer.

  • Company registration number: 01786138
  • Place of registration: England and Wales
  • Legal form: private company limited by shares

2.2 Why these details appear here

UK company law requires a company to disclose its registered name, its registered number, the part of the United Kingdom in which it is registered, and the address of its registered office on its websites and on its business correspondence. Commercial websites that sell or advertise goods and services must also identify the service provider, give a geographic address and an email address, and state a VAT registration number where one is held. This page, together with the footer line described in section 14, is how we meet those duties. If any of these details change, we update this page and the footer at the same time.

2.3 VAT and other tax identifiers

Where the operator holds a VAT registration, the VAT registration number is displayed in the site footer, on quotations, and on every VAT invoice issued to a customer. Where no VAT number appears in the footer, VAT is not charged separately for that supply in the circumstances described in the Terms and Conditions. Business customers outside the United Kingdom, and customers to whom different tax rules apply, are dealt with on a case-by-case basis in the Terms and Conditions and the Payment and Refund Policy. If you need a tax identifier for your own accounting records and cannot find it in the footer or on your invoice, ask us at info@nfts.co.uk before you place an order.

2.4 Responsible representatives

The company acts through its directors, who are responsible for the content published on this site and for the contracts it enters into. Day-to-day responsibility for data protection matters sits with the person nominated by the directors as the company's data protection contact, who can be reached at info@nfts.co.uk. We have not appointed a statutory Data Protection Officer, because our processing does not fall within the categories for which UK law makes that appointment mandatory. Requests about this legal notice, intellectual property complaints, and requests for earlier versions of our policies should also be sent to info@nfts.co.uk.

2.5 Licences, regulated equipment and safety rules

Some of the equipment and techniques discussed on this site are subject to licensing or regulatory control in the United Kingdom. Radio microphones, wireless talkback and similar transmission equipment require a licence from Ofcom before they may be used, and responsibility for holding the correct licence normally rests with the operator using the equipment on the day. Aerial filming, pyrotechnics, rigging above audiences, and work at height are governed by their own rules, including health and safety legislation and, in some cases, approval by a local authority. Any guidance we publish is general information; it is not a licence and it is not a substitute for the judgement of a competent person on site.

3. Registered office, trading location and contact routes

Our registered office is at Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG. This is the address at which formal documents, including documents that must be served on the company, may be delivered. We also work from operational premises used for equipment preparation, demonstration and dispatch. Visits are by appointment only, because our studio floors and stores are working environments with moving equipment, cabling and rigs.

You can reach us by email at info@nfts.co.uk or by telephone on 01494 671234. The Contacts page carries a contact form that you may use for general enquiries, quotations, hire availability and technical questions. Messages sent through the form are received by the same team that manages the email inbox.

Please note that the contact form is not a reliable channel for documents with a legal deadline, for a notice of cancellation sent close to the end of the cancellation period, or for service of court documents. If your message falls into one of those categories, use email and ask for confirmation of receipt, or deliver the document to the registered office in person or by post.

We aim to acknowledge enquiries within two working days and to give a substantive reply within five working days. During peak periods, such as major sporting fixtures, elections and festival seasons, replies may take longer. If your enquiry is urgent, please telephone us.

4. Purpose, scope and intended audience of this website

This site exists to support professionals working in studio and live production. It explains how studios are set up, how cameras are operated to follow movement while keeping framing stable, how lighting is shaped to suit camera sensors, and how sound is captured and monitored so that audio and picture match. It also describes workflow design: how a gallery, a studio floor and an edit or playout chain are arranged so that television news bulletins and live shows can be produced reliably and to a predictable standard.

The site is intended for adults working in a professional or educational capacity. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children through it. Where we describe products, hire options or services, those are offered in a business and professional context. Nothing on the site is a personal recommendation to a particular individual, and the suitability of any piece of equipment always depends on the production concerned.

The site is not an engineering, certification or safety approval service. Specifications, prices, availability and lead times shown on the site are indicative and are confirmed only in a written quotation or order confirmation issued by us.

5. Access to the website and acceptable use

5.1 What you may do

You may browse the site, read and print pages for your own professional reference, and share short extracts with colleagues in the ordinary course of your work, provided that you do not remove attribution and do not present the material as your own or as the advice of another source.

5.2 What you may not do

You must not use automated tools to harvest content or contact details; attempt to gain access to areas of the site or its servers that are not public; probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the site; introduce malware or any other harmful code; interfere with the site's normal operation, including by making excessive requests; use the site to mislead others about your identity or affiliation; or use content from the site to train, fine-tune or benchmark automated systems without our written permission. You must also comply with all laws that apply where you are, including those relating to export control, sanctions and the use of radio spectrum.

5.3 Consequences of misuse

If we believe the site is being used in breach of this section, we may block access, suspend any account we have given you, and report the matter to the police or to the relevant regulator. We reserve the right to recover the reasonable costs of investigating and remedying deliberate misuse.

6. Ownership and permitted use of content, trade marks and other intellectual property

All text, diagrams, photographs, video, layout, code and data compilations on this site are protected by copyright and, where relevant, by database right and unregistered design right. Those rights belong to us or are licensed to us. Trade marks, product names and logos belonging to manufacturers, broadcasters and other organisations are used for identification and compatibility purposes only and remain the property of their owners. No use of our trade marks, or of a third party's trade marks, is permitted in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership or sponsorship without written consent.

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive licence to view and use the site for your own internal business or educational purposes. That licence does not extend to republishing substantial parts of the site, selling or sublicensing our content, building derivative training products from it, or including it in a paid course without a written agreement. Where we publish downloadable material such as checklists or specification sheets, you may use it inside your own organisation, but you may not distribute it outside that organisation or present it as your own work.

If you believe that material on the site infringes your rights, write to info@nfts.co.uk with the page concerned, a description of the work you claim, and evidence of your ownership. We investigate promptly and will remove or amend material where a complaint is well founded.

7. Accuracy, availability and proportionate limits of liability

We take care to keep the site accurate, but studio technology changes quickly and practice varies between venues and broadcasters. An article may describe equipment that has since been superseded, or a setup that was correct at the time of writing. We therefore publish the general reference material on an information-only basis, without warranty; warranties relating to goods and services that we sell or hire are set out in the Terms and Conditions.

We do not guarantee that the site will be available without interruption or free from errors. We may take the site down for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control, including failures of hosting providers, network operators or power supplies. We are not liable to you for loss caused by a period in which the site is unavailable, and we recommend that you do not rely on the site as your only source of time-critical production information.

Nothing in this notice excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of the terms implied by sections 9 to 11 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 where they apply, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, and where you use the site in the course of a business, we exclude liability for loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of anticipated savings, loss of business opportunity, loss of goodwill, and any indirect or consequential loss. Where we are found liable to a business user in connection with the site, our total liability is limited to the greater of £100 and the amount you paid us for the relevant goods or services in the twelve months before the claim arose. You are responsible for keeping your own backups of anything you take from the site.

8. External links and third-party content

We link to manufacturers, broadcasters, regulators and industry bodies because they are useful to readers. Those links are provided for convenience. We do not control the sites we link to, we do not endorse everything published there, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, security or privacy practices. When you follow a link, the terms of use and the privacy notice of that site apply to your visit, and you should read them before providing personal information.

Some pages embed material hosted by third parties, such as video players or specification feeds. Those services may set cookies or record information about your device when the embedded content loads. The Cookie Policy explains how consent is handled and how you can change your choices. If a third-party embed fails or is unavailable, the rest of the page continues to work.

9. Data protection under UK GDPR and the use of cookies

We are the controller of the personal information processed through this site, within the meaning of the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. We process enquiry details, account and order information, and technical information such as device type, approximate location and pages visited, in order to answer enquiries, provide goods and services, keep the site secure, and understand how the site is used. Our lawful bases are the performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the site, and consent where consent is required.

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to ask us to delete it, to restrict or object to certain processing, to receive a portable copy where that right applies, and to withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis for processing. Requests should be sent to info@nfts.co.uk; we may ask for proof of identity before responding. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

We use cookies and similar technologies. Strictly necessary cookies are set without consent because the site cannot function safely without them. Analytics, preference and marketing cookies are set only after you have agreed through the cookie banner that appears on your first visit, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time. Our handling of personal information and of cookies is described in detail in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy, which form part of the terms on which you use this site.

Cross-references in plain text: Privacy Policy; Cookie Policy; Terms and Conditions.

10. Sales, hire, payment and refunds

Goods, equipment hire and services offered through this site are supplied on our Terms and Conditions and our Payment and Refund Policy. Where you buy as a consumer, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you a cancellation period of fourteen days from the day you receive the goods or, for services, from the day the contract is concluded, and you may cancel by telling us in writing, by email or by post before that period ends. Where you hire equipment as a consumer, different timing rules apply, and the position is explained in the Payment and Refund Policy.

Consumers also benefit from the Consumer Rights Act 2015: goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and services must be performed with reasonable care and skill. If something you have bought or hired from us does not meet those standards, tell us promptly and we will repair, replace, re-supply or refund as the law requires. Business customers should check equipment on delivery or collection and report shortages, damage or faults within the period set out in the Terms and Conditions.

Refunds are made to the original payment method, normally within fourteen days of agreement or of the return of the goods, and may be reduced where goods have been used beyond what is necessary to inspect them. Return carriage for unwanted goods is your responsibility unless we say otherwise, and we do not refund carriage charges for expedited or specialist delivery. A VAT invoice is issued for every taxable supply.

11. Complaints, alternative dispute resolution and consumer rights

If you are unhappy with the site, an order or a hire, please contact us first at info@nfts.co.uk with your order or hire reference and a clear description of the problem. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it within five working days.

Under the Alternative Dispute Resolution for Consumer Disputes (Competent Authorities and Information) Regulations 2015, a trader must tell consumers whether it is willing to use a certified alternative dispute resolution provider. We are not obliged to participate, and we do not currently participate in a certified alternative dispute resolution scheme, so an unresolved complaint would need to be pursued through the courts. This does not affect your statutory rights, and it does not prevent you from seeking advice from Citizens Advice or, in some circumstances, from your local Trading Standards service.

12. Applicable law, jurisdiction and consumer protections

This legal notice, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it or with the site, is governed by the law of England and Wales. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live, and you keep the benefit of the mandatory consumer protections of the law of that place. Where you contract with us in the course of a business, the exclusions and limits described in this notice are intended to be reasonable in a commercial context, and the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 applies to them accordingly.

The law of England and Wales also governs the terms on which any goods or services described on this site are supplied, unless a written quotation or contract states otherwise.

13. Changes to this legal notice and how to contact us

We review this legal notice whenever our business, the services we offer or the applicable law changes. Where a change is material, we will place a prominent notice on the site for a reasonable period. Each version is dated, and the current version is dated 26 October 2026. If you would like a copy of an earlier version, ask us at info@nfts.co.uk and we will provide it where we still hold it.

Questions about this notice, requests about your personal information, intellectual property complaints, and notices on any other formal matter may be sent to info@nfts.co.uk, or by post to Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG. For anything urgent, telephone 01494 671234.

14. Identity details shown in the site footer

The footer of every page carries a plain-text identity line summarising the mandatory disclosures. The entities included in that line are Company Name, Company Registration Number, Place of Registration, Registered Office, Email and Phone. No other contact or identity elements are published in the footer, and no monthly or annual statements are issued by us.
